I've been told that when a person reads two sybase databases at the same time this is known as Component Integration Services. What is it called when you read 2
Oracle databases simultaneously.Thanks!

Hi,

In oracle you don't need any integration services or gatway or anything to read two oracle databases simultaneously......

This is taken care by oracle's NET8 networking services....
Oracle databases in any OS platform can talk to each other using NET8.
unlike DB2( i don't know how its done in sybase)
you don't need any gateway interface(like data propagator or data joiner) to read a oracle/NT database and a oracle/Unix database simultaneously.

similler term for Component Integration Services in oracle would be Distributed databases.

Bala.
