What might cause a connection to go bad? I have a deamon that opens a connection to an oracle database at startup and then never closes it. The deamon continually processes and updates data in the database. Periodically, I loose my connection to the database even though the database is still up and running. Any ideas what might cause this?

Thanks,
Mike

Did you set the time-out on your Oracle listener?
