Hi,

Iam trying to install oracle 8.1.7 client for solaris 7
i have copied oracle dump to /opt/app/oracle/product/8.1.7/ as oradump ,which is also a $ORACLE_HOME.
when i execute ./runInstaller it will say
Initializing the Java virtual machine, Jre not found in
/tmp/OraInstaller/jre/bin../lib/..........
I have tried with another CD also but no result.
Please help me out to overcome this problem...

You have to use an xwindow emulator or the console. This is all in the installation guide.
