i have installed oracle8i and oracle 7.0 in HP system running on Sco Unixware7. Both the databases are up and running simultaneously with different homes and SIDs.Can i connect from oracle8 to oracle7 to access the tables therein or vice versa ? if so pl let me know.pl be elaborate.

Hi,

Solution in your problem I think it is database link. Trough that link, you can proceed any DML operation from one database to another (detabase version or server is indifferent).
