We require to convert a sale order into Internal Requisition / Purchase Order. I found/checked Oracle Apps does not support this functionality.

Has anyone tried this before.

Thanks

Hi Vinod

Good Morning.

As you said, it is not "Drop Ship". Actually, these Sales Orders are normal Sales Orders. Before coming to the point, I have to explain you our scenario.

We have got around 10 branches in India, who are creating Sales Orders for their respective locations. For all these locations, stock is being sent from a centralised location based on their Sales Requirement.

At Present, these branches are creating an Internal REquest on the Centralised location, for the consolidated Qty of their Sales Orders.

Everytime, they need to refer to the sales order to create an Internal Requisition, which is time consuming, for eg. each Sales Order can have more than 40 to 50 Lines.

If you could tell us a way to convert these Sales Orders into Internal request, it would save a lot of time and minimise mistakes.

Hi,

The following methods can be taken into consideration :

1) Create sales order :Type : Internal

2) Run --> Auto create purchase requisition The sales order is converted into purchase requisition.

3) Run-->Requisition Import
source : Order entry

Hope it satisfies your scenario.

Hi Vinod

What we want to create is an "Internal Requisition", which facilitates Stock Transfers. Can you think of any idea?

Hi,

Another suggestion

1) You have a centralised Inventory organization

Create 10 different logical Inventory org for your individual sales depots.

2) Create Inter org transfers to transfer the stock to the sales depots inventory.

Replenish them as necessary by setting the planning method.

3) While creating the sales order , the default source should be its warehouse.

There is an increase in maintaining the Inventory organziations.

Here the need for manually creating the Internal requisition is avoided.
This is just a hypothetical one.

Your inputs are welcome!!!

Hi,

Another one

Let us assume for stock transfer between HQ & Sales Depot

In Sales Depot

1 )Create Internal requisition

2) Run program-->Create Internal order

In HQ

3) Order management-->Order import
Order source : Internal

4) Book order-->Ship confirm

In Sales Depot

5) Create receipts -will update the stock.

This will transfer your stock thru the internal requisition.

This is more effective.

Vinod

Hi Vinod

Thanks for your reply.

We already have 10 Inventory Orgs. Let me explain you the flow we have set at present.

1. The Branch first Collects a Purchase Order from the Customer and creates a Sales ORder.

2. After creating the Sales Order, the Branch Creates an Internal REquisition (for items appearing in in the Sales Order)on the Centralised Inventory Location and asks for Stock.

3. The Centralised Inventory Location, converts the internal REquest of the Branch into an Internal Sales Order at its location.

4. With reference to this "Internal Sale Order", the Central Inventory Location Transfers Stock to the Branch.

5. The Branch Receives the Stock referring their Internal Request.

In this above flow, you may notice that the Branch is involved in creating a Sales Order and also an Internal Requisitiontion for same items.

We want the System to generate this Internal Requisition from the Sales Order, so that the Branch need not do a duplication job as said above.

What would you suggest.

Hi vinod

I have seen your recent reply, after having posted my previous one.

We are following the exact solution what you have given.
When we create internal requisition, we take the information from the customer PO, which we have created as a Sale Order.

In this case, we are entering a Sale Order for the Customer PO and an internal Requisition to fulfil the stock transfer.

Our requirement is to create automatically, the internal requisition for the Sales Order we entered.

Hi,

Another alternative.

Basically you have 10 Inventory organziations. Therefore the primary tasks would be to maintain the stock at these locations.

This can be achived automatically by combining
sourcing rules and Inventory planning method.

Therefore the need to manually create an internal requisition to transfer the stock is avoided.

Hence, when an SO is created from customer PO, it checks for the stock availiable. If the stock is not enough ,it initates to replenish the stock.

I think KANBAN replenishment would be suited.
