Was able to connect to EM first time after 10g install on XP, but failed to connect after a few days. Any idea what's missing in the process? Used cable modem. Everytime I installed 10g, EM was working, but not after reboot/restart.

hi sroy,
you need to start services for using em..
When u start it after installation, its associated services have been already started..
But when u reboot, or restart the PC, u need to start em service and listener service in order to user EM..

Regards..

Yes, correct but when services startup type is manual.

@OP you have to first check services is start or not ( as mention by dipali)

set oracle_sid=<sid>
emctl status dbconsole

if stop then start first
emctl start dbconsole

if still you facing problem then you have to check "emagent.trc" file for more infomation.

location : ORACLE_HOME/localhost.domainname/sysman/log

regards
Taj

Thank you all for the information. I am now able to connect to EM after checking/restarting the listener in the Administration Tools. it's supposed to be auto started up in response to the connection attempt. This is the reason why the newbies didn't realize until then.
